Work Stress
Real techniques for coping based on experience and the growth of faith in God.
I've always believed in God. The reality of the future predicted in the Bible has been part of my consciousness since a child. I was lucky too in 1989 to see my faith made sight in a very real way. I had believed since the early 1980s that Europe must unite as Daniel's image (Daniel Chapter 2) had to 'stand'. I was looking for it in the newspapers but did not see it. Then I watched on TV when the Berlin Wall fell. Since then Europe has gone further and is virtually the united states of Europe. I believed that in 1986-8 when it looked impossible.
But in my life in architecture I stressed a lot. I guess it's normal when you start a practice. Despite listening to the boss, I hadn't had the experience and dealt with the Authorities. And my Authorities sometimes weren't particularly nice or co-operative. They gave the impression they don't care and even sometimes that skill is not valued. The problem was I cared too much. I had a belief in the spirit of the law rather than the letter of the law. Conscientious.
So I had to learn. And it was tough. When you are stressed you become sick.
The answer was amazing. If we believe in God there is evidence there is enormous power available. And the first is advice by Jesus (better Y'shua- pronounced Yah shoo a)
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (Matthew 6:34).
Its not about not caring, but rather about placing thought on the things we can change, and in context about placing our care for God first and seeking His help.
God likes us to ask for his help.
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
(Psalm 55:22)
Here it says we must throw our burdens upon God. This is something of great benefit. We cannot be stressed is we are not carrying "burdens". But this does not mean it is not hard work. At all times it may be a struggle to do right, especially in a world with increasing corruption, and certainly people wanting, perhaps, too much.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men.
(Galations 6:9-10)
So now I praise with sincere thanks for my delivery and health to the Strength of the universe. His name is YHWH and this means "He who will be". When it is written in the Text as "the LORD God" it reads "He who will be Mighty Ones".
I look to the time when
And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word: But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD. (Numbers 14:20-21)
