Design is a Skill

Some great architects have started their careers with remarkably modest buildings. This supports the idea that design is a skill that learnt and is practiced. Donald Schon in his research of archiects notes that the experienced practitioner will investigate more options in the same time as the less experienced designer. He proposed Design was a process of reflection-in-action. Design is a skill in the 'act' or action of design. It follows that there will be variation in experience and that sucess will require both talent and most importantly effort. Attached is a short article.
